The Tintometer Group of Companies, the global manufacturer and distributor of the Lovibond® branded water analysis and colour measurement technology, today announced the purchase of App-Chem Ltd, a leading supplier of individually designed and customised water test kits for industrial water treatment. This acquisition further demonstrates The Tintometer Group's long-term commitment to the expansion of its core areas; Water and Colour Analysis.
The Tintometer Ltd with effect today, 26th May, 2011. The merging of our two companies combines App-Chem's 30 years of experience and technical expertise in the water treatment industry along with the Lovibond® range of precision instruments and reagents manufactured by The Tintometer Group of Companies. App-Chem's knowledge of the microbiological and electrochemical sectors will serve to help the group expand into new applications."

App-Chem Ltd will trade independently under its well-respected name and continue to operate in Wrexham where it will enhance the group's service and support of the UK market. As part of The Tintometer Group, App-Chem Ltd will gain immediate access to its international infrastructure which will provide important advantages for its customers.
As part of the merger, Brian McGuckin will lead the App-Chem business as General Manager. McGuckin brings a wealth of experience in running successful, international manufacturing and production facilities. McGuckin stated: "I am delighted to join The Tintometer Group during this exciting phase of the company's growth and look forward to working with my new colleagues to help further expand the business."
